Diwali

Diwali can be described as the Hindu celebration of light. In Hinduism the light symbolises goodness So throughout the entire festival you can see people lighting lamps. This festival also celebrates folk art of Rangoli, which is believed that it originated within the Indian state of Maharashtra. Rangoli is a vibrant and colorful design constructed from various colored materials and placed on the ground. According to legend, it brings good luck and shield homes from evil spirits.

A poem written by Clement Moore in 1822, "Twas the Night Before Christmas," has a significant connection to religion. Saint Nicholas is also linked to the Christmas season. His name is a reference to a bishop of the early Christian church in Asia Minor, who left presents for children along with the gold of stockings.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is the national celebration of the United States and Canada. It is also celebrated in Saint Lucia, Grenada and Liberia. It was originally an occasion to offer thanks for the previous year's harvest. Similar celebrations of the festival are held around the world in Japan in Japan and Germany.
